ASKING AND RECEIVING

“Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.”

Psalm 2:8

God created man not to be self dependent but rather to depend on Him, it is man’s total dependence on God that guarantees a sweat less triumphant life. Several times in the scripture it has been re-emphasized over and over the fatherly role of God towards mankind most especially His children. “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”(1 Peter 5:7, Psalm 55:22) God cares for you more than your earthly father, He said the thought he had for you is the thought of peace not evil to give you an expected end (Jeremiah 29:11) His love for you cannot be quantified nor measured. But despite all these you still need to ask Him, though He is willing to give you everything you asked Him but you just have to ask first before you can receive from Him.

COME BELIEVING GO TESTIFYING

 “And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord.”

Mathew 9:28

Every testimony is the proof of direct act of God also known as a ‘Miracle’. Preceding every miracle is faith, because miracles respond to faith. “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”(Hebrews 11:6) To move God requires faith, and when faith is on ground miracles are bound to happen because God honours faith and faith honours God. The anchor scripture is a pure demonstration of the act of God in response to faith or believing, this story is one of the many stories establishing the fact that faith is the anchor that draws miracle.

INVOKING THE COVENANT

“And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and sayings, Thou Son of David, have mercy on us.”

Mathew 9:27

Covenant is an agreement between two or more parties with a promise of fulfilling a certain obligation when a certain condition is fulfilled. A covenant is different from a promise because of its rigidity and in the case of God and man irrevocable. “My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.”(Psalm 89:34) whatever things that proceeds out of the mouth of God cannot be reversed. Every of God’s words and promises are covenant in the making because the moment the condition necessary for its fulfillment are met it will surely deliver. There are more than 8,000 promises in the Bible that can be attributed to the covenant. Over the ages God entered into covenants with men like Noah, Abraham, and David and others.

OTHER GODS

 “No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”

Mathew 6:24

The first three commandment delivered through the hand of Moses has to do with our relationship with God, while the remaining seven deals with our relationship with our fellow men. The first of the three is that: “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”(Exodus 20:3). Many people limit the other gods in context to graven images and handmade gods, or worship of sun, moon, and stars or other creatures. Other gods means different things to different people, whatever you idolize becomes a god to you. Also whatever that can take the place of God in your life are other gods, therefore whatever you give the first place to in your life is other gods. To some it is food, while to some it may be something else.

RICHES OF GLORY

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:19

Many people today including believers find it difficult to define the word ‘Glory’ not really that they don’t know what it is, but that it is complicated in definition. If you don’t know how well to define Glory you can as well take some minutes to check the opposite of Glory which is ‘shame’ from there we can take a cue from the definition of shame to define Glory. Glory represents every good thing one can think of, while shame is a reproach and stands to represent every bad thing that can happen to any man. THE FIRST COMMANDMENT

Several times in the Bible it was revealed that our God is a jealous God, this was further revealed from the Ten Commandment given to Moses the Man of God at the Mountain of the Lord in Horeb (Exodus 20:3). The Commandments are arranged in order of priority to God, the first three Commandments addresses our vertical relationship, our relationship with God (Exodus 20:1-8), while the remaining seven addresses our horizontal relationship, which is our relationship with our fellow men.

The first Commandment is the foundation on which the remaining commandments stand upon, it is the yardstick used in measuring the compliance with other commandments. God abhors rivalry, He constantly says in the scriptures ‘I AM THE LORD’ there is none beside me.

THE BIG CHOICE

                             “Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse.”

In life we are faced with the dilemma of making choices, we are faced with the challenges of making decisions based on choices. Life as we know is based on series of decisions taken or to be taken, in every issue of life there is need to make choices from time to time. Some of these choices may be trivial while some are important to destiny fulfillment that could determine a man’s placement both in time and eternity. There are different types of occasions of choice making, some are taken by you while some are taken on your behalf by people that means a lot to you, but whichever way choice is made, whatever choice is made is left to you to deal with the consequences. Choice portrays the true nature of man as a free moral agent given the power to make choices and decisions without God’s interference.

IT’S TESTIMONY TIME

 “When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.”

Psalm 126:1

The above topic is a popular saying in our churches today mostly during Sunday services, it is the time we celebrate the victory of the cross over every circumstances of life. By sharing testimonies we are not showing off but rather laying hold on the promises of God and showing appreciation for the miracle that was witnessed. Also testimonies accords us the priviledge to put an end to the operation of the enemies upon our lives because as the saying goes that “Testimonies shared is the victory sustained” (Revelation 12:11). Testimonies are the evidences of miracles or signs which is the direct acts of God provoked by a desperate acts of men.

SHOWING THE LIGHT

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

Mathew 5:16

Every child of God is a star by destiny, the fact that you have given your life to Christ confers on you the status of a Star and a representative of light. The anchor scripture shows and confirms that you have a light to be shown to the world. It is the confirmation of what our Lord Jesus said in the previous verse preceding the above scripture “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.”(Mathew 5:14). Every believer is literally a ‘Light’ even as God is Light and there’s no darkness in Him at all.

Showing the light means showing or manifesting the power and the Glory of God which can be done through the good works and righteous living.

CHANGING YOUR LIFE

“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.”

Proverbs 23:7

Words are powerful tools of creation, through the use of words the whole earth and the heavens came into being (Genesis 1:1-3). Likewise our words carry weight as well. The tongue is the smallest part of human body but boast the greatest power over the whole body. “Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold how great a matter a little fire kindleth! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.” Our words determines the direction of our lives, our words can make or mar us. Our words can make alive and kill “For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.”(Mathew 12:37)

GETTING HIGH

“And I went up by revelation, and communicated unto them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain.”

Galatians 2:2

God’s way is higher than man’s way. He is the Most High God and therefore anything or anyone that will be high must be connected to Him. To get high means to operate in the realm that is beyond ordinary, to get high means to know what others do not know, it also means to see what others could not see and if you can see the invisible then you can do the impossible. The highway is the realm of unlimited possibilities, the realm where nothing is impossible. There is no man that operates in this realm that failed but they rather translate from failure to all round success.

BEYOND YOUR EXPECTATION

“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.”

Ephesians 3:20

The faithfulness of God cannot be estimated. The Bible while making an attempt at defining the awesomeness of God says He seats in Heaven and makes the earth His footstool. Then I begin to imagine how big our God is. God also revealed Himself to us from the pages of the scriptures through His acts and deeds and we come to conclude that there is nothing too big for Him to do. The anchor scripture also points to the fact that God is able to do anything we ask or think. God’s will for all His children is to bless them beyond their expectation or thinking but at the same time He blesses us based on the level of our perception of Him, that is the bigger you think He is, the bigger He appears and manifest Himself to you.
