“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your
good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
Mathew 5:16
Every child of God is a star by destiny, the fact
that you have given your life to Christ confers on you the status of a Star and
a representative of light. The anchor scripture shows and confirms that you
have a light to be shown to the world. It is the confirmation of what our Lord
Jesus said in the previous verse preceding the above scripture “Ye are the light
of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.”(Mathew 5:14). Every believer is literally a ‘Light’ even as God is Light
and there’s no darkness in Him at all.
Showing the light means showing or manifesting
the power and the Glory of God which can be done through the good works and
righteous living.
Our lifestyle is the catalogue been observed by the people of
the world, and as a believer we must endeavour to live a life of which the name
of God will not be blasphemed or reproached that is when our light can be seen.
Are you really showing the light? Are you a role model in your community and
environment? Is your lifestyle attracting the people to God? Many believers
cannot win souls for God because their lifestyle is not different from the
people they are supposed to change, they act holy in the church and outside
they are devil’s, what a hypocrisy? They defraud, cheat, and tell lies at will
all in the name of business, they are unfaithful and perverse in all their
ways. A lifestyle like this cannot please God and God’s blessing will never
come on a disobedient child, repent today and ask God to forgive all your sins
and start showing the light which you are, the Bible says “occupy till I come”
meaning we must take the place of Christ in our world today go now and shine
the LIGHT!
